ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born and went to school in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. I now live on the
outskirts of Durham City.
My education and career have been in science but I have always had an interest in
art. I read science at Durham University and taught physics in a number of
local secondary schools.
I started painting in watercolour several years ago. Since retiring from my post
as Head of Science at Sedgefield Community College, I have been able to devote
more time developing my painting skills. I am mainly self taught, but I am grateful to Dave http://andysartwork.weebly.com/ for the many tips and encouragement, and to the Friends Watercolour Group in Chester-le-Street for all their help and support, I have exhibited pictures in this society’s exhibitions.
My paintings have been accepted for display in the Northern Federation of Art Societies open exhibitions and Durham Open Art Exhibition. To date I have had one solo exhibition. I have often exhibited paintings in art sales in Wolsingham, Crook and Gateshead.
I hope you will enjoy looking at the pictures in the Galleries and My Cards. I would be interested to hear your comments.
